CHMCC Efforts Pay Off
$25,000 Available for purchase of City,
Bank Owned or Foreclosed Upon Homes
in two CHM census tracks

Four years ago, CHM’s success in improving led to the community’s
inclusion into the Healthy Neighborhoods program. Since then, the
community has seen improvements in the landscape, the curb
appeal, and our gateways, in addition to enhanced code enforcement
addressing blight, vacancies and trash dumping.

Healthy Neighborhoods programs such as the low interest rate
purchase, refinance and renovation loans have found their way to
enhance many homes. Block projects have upgraded many blocks’
curb appeal, and capital improvements such as the lighting of the
Martin Luther Statue and the new disc golf course at Lake
Montebello, have brought hundreds of people to enjoy our
neighborhoods. Healthy Neighborhoods helps strong communities
like ours to increase home values, market our community, create
higher standards for property improvements and forge strong
connections among neighbors.
Now, Healthy Neighborhoods, Inc. has formed a partnership with
the federal government to implement the NSP2 Program—a
program that offers $25,000 to homebuyers that purchase a home
in foreclosure, or that is bank owned or city owned.
This is a great opportunity for renters seeking to buy a home and
other folks looking to buy in a Healthy Neighborhood to take
advantage of the current market and buy a home in good condition.
Homebuyers must complete 8 hours of counseling with an approved
agency and meet with a Healthy Neighborhoods representatives.  It
also means that residents who have been working hard to improve
the conditions and fill vacancies their blocks have one more
incentive to share with friends, families and co-workers.
